SEMH SESSIONS:

Labels Stop Where The Forest Begins:

Hosted by an Outdoor Mental Health Practitioner, these sessions are designed to be a sanctuary for children with SEMH needs and their parent who is holding everything together.

If your life feels like a constant cycle of appointments, explanations, managing a diagnosis and wrestling with juggling it all, I invite you to leave the noise at the gate and enter this neutral space where we don't focus on the problem - we focus on the fire, the wood and rebuild the bond between you and your child.

We don't sit in a circle and talk about feeling, we sit side by side and let our hands do the work. Sharing a task and using the "Third Object" approach, such as lighting a fire or creating a talisman; the pressure to perform vanishes.

How This Helps:

For the Child: 

Repetitive, rhythmic tasks like whittling or working with clay soothes the lower brain stem, helping an unbalanced or traumatised nervous systems find safety.

For the Parent:

This is your permission to stop being the 'fixer'. When your nervous system down-regulates by the fire, your child's follows.

For the Family:

We rebuild trust through "shared wins" - from building a den to making a fire, team work and communication recondition the relationship.

How It Works:

Duration:

Sessions are usually a 4 week commitment (but can be booked as standalone). We meet once a week for between 2 - 2.5 hours. This allows enough time for the outside world to fall away and for you and your child to enter a true state of flow.

Investment:

When booking a private 1-on-1 session the cost is £90 per session / £360 for course.

Included in the cost are all materials, drinks, snacks and a handcrafted talisman to take home after the final session. Payment is required in full prior to the first session commencing.

What a session looks like:

An initial task to stretch the muscles and shake out tension.

Discussion / introduction to a wonder of nature.

Shared, open ended task to strengthen communication and bond.

Drink and snack.

Discreet yoga to help with regulating the body.

Regular check-in of emotions.
